Problem, and project’s contributions
Norwegian sign language is the primary medium of communication of the deaf people in the country. The sign language education in Norway faces challenges like limited resources and few practice opportunities outside the classroom settings. In collaboration with different stakeholders, this project designed a gamified learning platform for Norwegian Sign Language.
My role
I was the main responsible for the project. From the very beginning to the delivery of the project, I was involved with different stakeholders, including sign language instructors, interpreters, learners and people interested in learning Norwegian Sign Language.

The current Norwegian Sign Language education system is hindered by limited resources, inaccessible learning materials, the absence of an educational platform, a lack of comprehensive and engaging digital tools, a shortage of game-based learning resources, no dedicated community app, and insufficient opportunities for practice outside the classroom.
